Diabetic Foot Care
DID YOU KNOW: Each year the NHS spends 1 billion pounds on diabetic foot care†
Foot Health Practitioners are the missing link in the UK’s diabetic foot care problem.
Bolton Foot Care see diabetic patients in their own home or our clinical setting, conducting thorough diabetic assessments. This early intervention is vital to the health of our patients and also to make sure that referrals are made at the earliest opportunity.
Our diabetic foot assessment may also give the patient their first indication that they developed diabetes or are at a significant risk of developing it.
According to Diabetes UK, there are over 7,000 diabetes related amputations annually in England. This is over 135 amputations a week amongst people with diabetes
With the NHS reducing much of its outpatient care around diabetic foot care to reduce costs, it is essential that patients see a Foot Health Practitioner regularly to care for their feet. This will highlight any issues arising and also help prevent any ulceration, infection and long term damage.
